Collaboration between architects and Prof. Oded Shoseyov of the Hebrew University lead to a project participated in the Israeli pavilion for the 2016 Venice Biennale.

The idea of the project is to develop a modern sustainable desert shelter for desert inhabitants that supplies them renewable energy for cooling, lighting and drinking water.

As can be seen in the images below, NCC is the raw material using different methods to create structures that can be formed easily from hardening of a NCC gel to form films or foams using Melodea’s technology.

Project members:

  • NCArchitects
  • Prof. Oded Shoseyov and Dr. Tiffany Abitbol
  • Michal Levitzky
  • Melodea Ltd.
